MoonMars Museum NFTs will Launch a Museum on the Moon, Mars and Beyond.

By JJ Love

Imagine gazing up to the full moon and knowing your artwork is up there carrying on the human legacy for eons to come. How would it feel to leave your mark amongst the stars that could live far beyond our lifetime, or to own a stake in something truly interplanetary? We can’t all be Elon Musk, but the MoonMars Museum is giving their artists and collectors a shot at space with NFTs and artwork on unprecedented exhibitions displayed first on the Moon, then Mars, hence the name.

The first official interstellar collection is projected to be spacebound as early as 2023, carrying a time capsule of human creativity, history, and legacy. It all began back in 2008 when chief scientist and MoonMars member, Bernard Foing, was working on sending petri dishes to the moon containing test materials. He stressed the importance of sending art as well, since it contains a wealth of information and emotion, it tells our stories and removes boundaries. As humans we all yearn for community and to be part of something that matters. That’s what MoonMars aims to deliver.

MoonMars can show every step of the journey by different imagery options. What’s even more exciting is that future astronauts can enjoy the art, along with any other space travelers that may swing by. The MoonMars Museum containing artworks from creators around the globe will be displayed indefinitely for intergalactic appreciation.

When speaking with the project founder, Marieke Feenstra , she explains, “We are creating MoonMars Museum as a collection of multiple art installations on different moonlanders over time. The installations will consist of physical art pieces residing in beautifully designed structures.” They’re also bringing together the global art and space communities to promote infinite creativity and collaboration.

“The MoonMars Museum is building an international community with artists, astrophotographers, scientists and space enthusiasts. Besides bringing art to space we will offer real life experiences, education, and much more,” Marieke Feenstra, MoonMars Museum Founder

So, how can you get in? The initial mint will consist of only 1969 Genesis NFTs priced at 1 eth, which will have the most long-term benefits. It is a beautiful 3D piece of art that will offer perks and rewards over the length of the project. Owners of these NFTs will be a part of space art history. The NFTs are packed full of out-of-this-world utility, a chance to have your initials engraved on the MoonMars Museum, access to rocket launch parties, zero gravity experiences, exclusive off-planet footage and even an actual trip to space for one lucky winner, plus much more! There is an early opportunity to get in the project via Juicebox.

When asked about inclusivity and equality within the project Feenstra states, “We want to be all about inclusivity and equality, for starters this is a female lead project, but we also want our artist and collector base to represent diversity in the best possible way.” Sending art to space will serve the global community by funding the MoonMars Foundation, which supports space exploration, innovation, global collaboration, and creativity in the areas of science, technology, education, and art. Be sure to join the discord so you don’t miss a thing! The countdown to liftoff is on, don’t get left behind.
